ORQUITE POR STREPTOCOCCUS SUIS EM SUÍNO – RELATO DE CASO

Resumo


O Streptococcus suis é uma bactéria gram positiva com mais de 35 sorotipos. No Brasil, o sorotipo 2 é o mais prevalente. O stress é um item importante e pode precipitar a infecção. A mortalidade dos animais acometidos pode variar entre quatro a 14 % e a susceptibilidade diminui com o aumento da idade. Entre os principais sinais clínicos da enfermidade, destaca-se otite interna, incoordenação motora, problemas neurológicos, septicemia, pneumonia, endocardite, rinite e principalmente meningite. A identificação do agente é feita através de isolamento, testes sorológicos e parâmetros bioquímicos. Um suíno sem raça definida, macho, de quatro anos de idade, com aumento de bolsa escrotal e secreção escura no ouvido foi encaminhado ao HV da UNIMAR para atendimento. Ao exame clínico o animal apresentava aumento da bolsa escrotal, anorexia, apatia, ulcerações na pele no membro posterior esquerdo, vômito esverdeado, olhos com mucosas congestas. Após atendimento clínico o animal foi a óbito e realizou-se a necropsia, foram colhidas amostras para exames histopatológico e microbiológico do testículo, líquido peritoneal e do exsudato da bolsa escrotal. No exame interno apresentava extenso flegmão e quantidade acentuada de líquido fibrinopurulento amarronzado na cavidade abdominal, pleuropneumonia severa, megaureter bilateral e cistite severa. Os resultados da cultura em ágar sangue de carneiro e BHI evidenciaram o crescimento de coco bacilo Gram positivo, no ágar sangue suas colônias eram puntiformes, translúcidas e delicadas, não mucóides de bordas arredondadas e não hemolíticas em 24 horas. Os testes para amilase, hidrólise da esculina, OF (glicose) tiveram resultados positivos. Ambas amostras apresentaram resistência a optoquina. Os resultados das provas de fermentação por 14 dias foram: positividade para glicose, sacarose, lactose, maltose, trealose, frutose, galactose, xilose e glicerol. E resultado negativo para sorbitol e manitol. Com base nos resultados acima concluiu-se tratar de septicemia por Streptococcus suis.
