Resumo

Cardiovascular diseases, especially in the elderly, are frequently associated with metabolic, inflammatory, and nutritional a lterations that directly impact clinical prognosis. Conditions such as sarcopenia, malnutrition, and body fat redistribution have emerged as relevant factors in the evolution of these patients. However, there are still gaps in understanding the impact of t his influence and the best way to perform an integrated clinical assessment. Objective: To analyze the relationship between metabolic alterations, nutritional status, inflammatory markers, and body composition with clinical outcomes in patients with cardio vascular diseases, highlighting their impact on mortality risk, length of hospital stay, and functionality. The analyzed studies consistently demonstrate that metabolic and nutritional alterations play a significant role in the prognosis of patients with cardiovascular diseases
